ESG efforts

Social re­spon­si­bil­i­ty – locally and na­tion­al­ly – is a cor­ner­stone of our work. We have set targets within five areas where we believe we can make a dif­fer­ence.

ESG ambition for the merger

The Bank has a core story with four promises to our different stake­hold­ers. ESG is an integral part of all four promises and our ESG ambition for the merger in respect of them appears below.

    We continuously work on integrating financially significant ESG issues into business development, risk management and governance

  • We take responsibility and make a difference

    We work on a broad range of ESG initiatives from ensuring financial inclusion to combating financial crime and supporting local communities

Targets and ini­tia­tives

We have set five targets defining how we are going to make a real dif­fer­ence. Read more about our efforts within each area.

  • Lending
    DKK 10bn for green finance in 2027
  • In­vest­ments
    50-70%* reduction in CO2e footprint from in­vest­ments in 2030 compared to CO2e footprint in 2020
  • AL Sydbank’s employees
    Employee en­gage­ment in top quartile compared to the sector
  • A decent bank
    >95%* of the Bank’s employees have regularly completed courses sup­port­ing a decent bank
  • En­vi­ron­men­tal footprint from own op­er­a­tions
    75%* reduction in CO2e footprint from own op­er­a­tions in 2030 compared to emissions in 2019.
