Sydbank is designated as a SIFI

In 2014 the Danish FSA designated Sydbank as a systemically important financial institution (SIFI) as Sydbank exceeds the Danish FSA’s threshold values as regards the bank’s total assets as a percentage of Denmark’s gross domestic product (GDP) as well as the bank’s domestic deposits as a percentage of total domestic deposits of Danish banks.

Assessments by the Danish FSA

The Danish FSA is the public authority which monitors that Danish banks comply with the rules in force. As from 1 April 2010 banks are required to publish the Danish FSA's assessments – including reprimands, orders and risk information.

The objective is to promote market transparency and openness about the European banking sector’s exposures across all countries in the EU.

Stress test

Sydbank and other banks from EU countries participate in a so-called EBA stress test conducted at the request of the European Banking Authority (EBA).

The stress test seeks to assess the resilience of European banks, including the banks’ capital resources, to severe shocks under hypothetical adverse scenarios.
