As one of Denmark’s largest banks, Sydbank has a special responsibility to make a positive contribution to developments in society so that together we can ensure a sustainable future for the next generations – we take this responsibility seriously. This is why we have increased our ambitions as regards sustainability by becoming a signatory to new significant international principles and guidelines and implementing organisational changes.
For instance in 2020 we set up a solar cell system to help cover part of our own electricity consumption and added electric cars to our fleet. Also, we signed the UN Principles for Responsible Banking and the UN Global Compact – two major endorsements that will help us embed sustainability into all aspects of the business and that will clearly define our efforts in 2021.
